Parkhaus Am Gleisdreieck

At the beginning of January 2020, a new exciting project has started as part of the Urbane Mitte Am Gleisdreieck and this pioneer of the urban quarter of tomorrow is now filled with life: Parkhaus Am Gleisdreieck.

However, the goal is not to operate a purely functional, conventional multi-storey car park, but rather to design an innovative and future-oriented one. To realise this vision, the project team dealt with questions such as:

What will the car park of tomorrow look like?
How can one space combine several types of use at the same time?
How can a multi-storey car park be transformed into a mobility and micro-logistics hub?

The existing car park has been gradually being transformed into an inner-city mobility hub. In cooperation with various sharing and mobility providers as well as links to the public transport system, the Parkhaus Am Gleisdreieck is to become a transfer point for various modes of transport. New types of mobility are now united at a central location and an attractive, safe parking experience has been created in the middle of Berlin.

Parking garage "Parkhaus Am Gleisdreieck" is a Smart Mobility Hub with around 800 parking spaces:

  •     Family & women's parking spaces, handicapped accessible parking spaces
  •     20 Tesla Supercharger fast charging stations with 250kW
  •     20 additional charging points with 11kW planned
  •     Jelbi mobility station with e-scooters, bikesharing, e-carsharing, e-mopeds

In addition to developing the innovative utilisation concept, COPRO Immobilienmanagement GmbH is responsible for the management and tenant management of the entire property.

Central location in Berlin

The existing car park was originally part of the 19-building complex "Quartier Potsdamer Platz", which was the result of extensive competitions, designs and planning by the international team of architects led by the two renowned architects Renzo Piano and Christoph Kohlbecker. Piano and Kohlbecker wanted to create a "European-style urban quarter" and left a lasting mark on the appearance of Potsdamer Platz.

The "Parkhaus Debis" (name at the time) was built in 1998 on the former Potsdamer railway station between the Landwehrkanal and the Gleisdreieck underground station to complement Potsdamer Platz. Designed by Renzo Piano himself, it was considered an ambitious building. With its excellent inner-city location between the districts of Mitte, Tempelhof-Schöneberg and Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, the parking garage offers an optimal starting point in the middle of Berlin.

Within walking distance are not only Potsdamer Platz, the Sony Center and the Mall of Berlin, but also the trade fair & event location STATION Berlin, the German Museum of Technology and the Park am Gleisdreieck with the hotspots BRLO and B-Part Am Gleisdreieck. Thanks to the Gleisdreieck railway station next door, the Parkhaus Gleisdreieck is easy to reach from all directions. Both the western and eastern centres of Berlin are only a few underground stops away (underground lines U1, U2, U3).

Long-term parkers can park comfortably, safely and around the clock in the Parkhaus Am Gleisdreieck - parking in an excellent inner-city location with optimal public transport connections.
