Welcome to B-Part Am Gleisdreieck

This experimental laboratory offers space for all those who want to discuss and develop solutions for new work, future-viable mobility and urban communities. The temporary timber frame multifunctional building is a miniature version of what Urbane Mitte Am Gleisdreieck is intended to become: a place for people and companies to grow, develop and be who they want to be.

With coworking spaces, a public café, sports facilities, art exhibitions as well as panels and events on an area of around 1,000 sqm, B-Part creates a unique meeting spot for neighbours, locals, entrepreneurs, creatives, sports enthusiasts and culture lovers alike. The heart of the building is the Urban Ideation Lab, which provides free workspaces to conduct research into future-oriented ideas and solutions for a livable urban neighbourhood of the future.

Sustainable construction

B-Part Am Gleisdreieck was built in prefabricated element construction. The wooden structure is climate-friendly and can be assembled and disassembled in a short construction time. As a temporary timber construction, B-Part is located on the site for four to five years before it can be rebuilt elsewhere. The used wood binds 350t CO2 and also avoids 350t CO2 compared to a building made of concrete and steel.

B-Part's outer shell of wooden slats provides a lively effect of the double-bent building. When passing by the façade even seems to change. The visible wooden ceilings and the walls clad with sea pine panels create a natural and healthy atmosphere inside. The specially constructed mobile focus boxes made of maritime pine, large wooden workbenches and the central open staircase ensure a pleasant room climate and promote interaction.
