COPRO AG Announces Strategic Realignment

Berlin, October 6, 2025 – The COPRO Group, a renowned real estate developer and asset manager, is repositioning itself for the future. With a clearly defined generational transition within the founding family and a focused expansion of its business activities, the company is reinforcing its market position and laying the groundwork for sustainable growth.

Succession in Property Management

As part of a long-term succession plan, COPRO AG has transferred ownership of its subsidiary, COPRO Immobilienmanagement GmbH, to Marc Julius Kimmich.

“The transfer of our property management company marks an important milestone and gives Marc Julius Kimmich the opportunity to further develop this established business independently – with innovative technologies and targeted acquisition strategies,” explains Karsten Baurschmidt, CEO of COPRO AG. “At the same time, COPRO Immobilienmanagement will continue to manage our real estate portfolio in Berlin and Stuttgart. The close cooperation between the companies will therefore remain unchanged.”

Marc Julius Kimmich, son of company founder Marc F. Kimmich, holds a Master’s degree in Real Estate Development from IE Business School in Madrid and has several years of experience in the real estate sector. In his previous role as Commercial Director of COPRO Immobilienmanagement GmbH, he gained extensive insights into the company’s operations and strategic direction – providing an ideal foundation for his new responsibilities.

Generational Change in Management

This transition marks another step in COPRO AG’s ongoing realignment. After more than 30 years in leadership positions within the Group, Antje Striebel-Kimmich has stepped down from her roles as Member of the Executive Board of COPRO AG and Managing Director of COPRO Immobilienmanagement GmbH.

“Antje Striebel-Kimmich has shaped the identity of COPRO for decades and made an outstanding contribution to the company’s success through her dedication and expertise,” says Marc F. Kimmich, founder of COPRO and member of the Supervisory Board. “We express our sincere gratitude and appreciation for her exceptional commitment.”

Strengthened Leadership and Strategic Growth

Since early 2024, Karsten Baurschmidt has served as CEO of COPRO AG, overseeing the Group’s overall management while also heading the founding family’s Family Office. He works closely with a seasoned Supervisory Board chaired by Nils Erichsen, alongside members Marc F. Kimmich and Ansgar Oberholz. Together, they are driving COPRO’s strategic development and guiding the company’s expansion into new business areas.

Focused Expansion and New Market Impulses

The COPRO Group is pursuing targeted growth by expanding its real estate portfolio in Germany’s key metropolitan regions — particularly Berlin and now Leipzig — while strengthening its position as a service-oriented developer. In a challenging market environment, COPRO leverages decades of experience and a strong industry network to identify sustainable opportunities and set new impulses in project development.
