COPRO acquires residential and commercial complex in Ludwigsfelde

Revitalisation of the property planned as part of an integrated design concept

Berlin, 19 September 2018 – Together with a private investor, COPRO is now the new owner of the residential and commercial complex at Straße der Jugend 22 in Ludwigsfelde. The real estate developer has commissioned the Berlin architects FAKT – Office for Architecture – to develop a holistic design concept for this project on the southern outskirts of Berlin. There are no extensive construction activities planned. This purchase will expand COPRO’s property portfolio.

An attractive place to live and work in the heart of Ludwigsfelde

The property, which was built in 1995, is located in the centre of Ludwigsfelde and can be reached by public transport in around 40 minutes from Berlin’s central station. The building comprises nine residential and thirteen commercial units with a total rental area of approx. 2,000 sqm. The property was brokered by Engel & Völkers Gewerbe Berlin GmbH & Co. KG. The investment will be financed by Sparkasse Berlin.

COPRO will make the building more attractive to both commercial users and residents through an integrated design concept. FAKT – Office for Architecture – is in charge of planning the associated construction work. The concept includes new colour accents designed to give the building a modern and more open character. Contemporary lighting and a new standardised signage and guidance system will also help residents, staff, and visitors find their way around the building more easily in the future. Aside from improving the stairwells, underground car park, and other areas, there are also plans to redesign the outside areas.

Our goal is to sustainably improve the quality of the property and to create new living and work space, also beyond Berlin, in the heart of Ludwigsfelde”, explains Nadir J. Guediri, Managing Director of COPRO Projektentwicklung GmbH.

The building is intended to remain in COPRO’s portfolio for the long term.
